It is (surprise!) a political blog. It comes from a progressive viewpoint. Despite the name's doom-and-gloom connotations, solutions and good news will be shared wherever I can find them.~~ Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish? Striking-13 arose from my disgust (to put it mildly) with current events. It's an outlet for information, but also a way to seek solutions. What blogging platform do you do and why? Blogger. Mostly because I started out with Blogger. What do you blog the most about? Politics, frugality, simplicity. What kind of blogs make you angry? Hate-spewing blogs. Blogs that pretend to be about something, but only exist to sell products. Give five of your best blogging tips. Will let you know when I have any. What are some things you would NEVER blog about? My lunch. The day job. Compulsive shopping. Unless, of course, they somehow tie in -- tightly -- with the headlines. Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money? I usually have some sort of affiliate link up, but the main purpose is communication. How long have you been blogging? 3-4 years, off and on. About how many hours per day do you spend blogging? 1 or 2. Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily? I don't track them much at all. Do you use Digg, and why or why not? Don't use it yet. No real reason. Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not? Don't use it yet. No real reason. What promotional techniques work best for you and why? Joining blogging communities. Commenting on other blogs. But I am also planning to use social media more. What mistakes have you made that you could warn others about? I'm still too busy making them. Will come back when I have more. Have you met anyone offline as a result of your blog? Hmmmm ... nope.
